It’s learning.
When you’re messing around with audio gear, when you’re employing the “trial and error”.
It’s important.
You plug up 20 fucking guitar pedals and by the time it hits the amplifier?
Soup.
A cacophony.
So then you learn.
Parallel mixing.
An isolated loop for each effect, the dry signal still makes it to the amp, with your exact coloring.
You decide.
You twist those little knobs and decide how the chain is blended. At some point, there’s so many options that you just sit there and think about it.
That statue, the thinking man.
I think the attraction is possibilities.
I think that’s the draw.
Thinking about what it could be.
If guitar pedals are feelings and I have of lot of those,?, well then,, you could learn to dial that in too.
Feelings, psychologies, moods,colors,
Whatever. It’s all the same thing.
“Vibe”.
Modus operandi .
Mode of operation.
Loco-motive.
Purpose.
Makes sense in terms of a pedal board.
I can visualize it.
I can’t in all other areas.
It’s just sounds.
I should think some more.
I know I like the gratitude pedal, I like clicking that on.
I like the being nice to other people pedal,
The un-isolator.
I like the open pathway of communication pedal, I like the electric excitement pedal.
(The intoxication pedal…)
The hung up on the past pedal, a reverse reverb.
(The sad pedal lol)
Blue as fuck.
Doesn’t make any sound, only emits the color blue lol.
(The mirror pedal)
Tsk tsk tsk,,,
I am doing it wrong.
But fuck you, I’ll figure it out.
I figure everything out.
On the pedalboard, you can rip everything off and remake the signal chain.
You can unplug every cable, detach every MIDI plug, turn everything off.
Then you start clean.
Blank page.
Guitar- to- amplifier.
Nothing complicated.
Then you start rebuilding, adding one at a time until it’s exactly how you want it.
(Control freak)
Only in some areas of life.
Not all.
Not a possessive or insecure boyfriend, not a gold digger,
Just want those pedals working right.
I know if I can get them just right, they’ll sound nice.
Better than nice.
I should think more
