I don’t think there’s anything more offensive than white people using black slang..incorrectly. Or any people’s slang,for that matter.
no one says “off the hook”, you’re supposed to say “off the chain”. The situation has been anthropomorphized as a dog, and subsequently,that dog is off the fucking chain.
Slang can only land on your ear one of two ways, natural/unnatural.
When it’s natural, it’s an amazing thing. Saving time and putting some swerve on your expression, if you mis-step, the listener hears it, gotta keeps it real.
