
The bulbs grow in triangles, and that way they can absorb the maximum amount of sunlight.
If the shape were reversed, everything downstream would be starved .
It evolved into a shape.
To do its part, to do its job, to participate in a relationship with a star.
If the bulb of the flower didn’t grow into that exact shape.
The whole thing wouldn’t work.
It cannot grow to maturity, it could not foster reproduction, it would have no seeds.
And the species would be extinct a long time ago.
It makes me wonder how many things nature has weeded out.
