I heard a very smart and very well educated person use the phrase

“the spirit of self sacrifice”

I don’t think I’ve ever heard those words put into that order before 🤔🤔

So what is it?

The spirit of self sacrifice.

Falling on your sword to save your squad-mates?

Human shield type of stuff?

Or on the personal level, charity?

Making an effort to help someone that really needs it?

Without anyone seeing you do it?

Good Samaritan type of stuff?

Yielding in an argument with a person you love?

Knowing you’re right but not engaging in the conflict?

Self sacrifice…

A walled off person doesn’t tend to do that, but it’s not out of selfishness, it’s just being walled off.

Don’t want to interact with kindness or with conflict, because it requires interaction.

And interaction can be uncomfortable 😣

Still thought it was a neat phrase

“the spirit of self sacrifice”

Christians like to invoke it,but a preacher will bring up anything that gets a reaction, it’s a trick.

I saw Billy Graham at a tent revival.

Smart guy.

Very good with framing arguments.

I digress..

The spirit of self sacrifice 🤔🤔🤔

Do you sacrifice yourself for anything? Anything at all?

Do you bite your tongue sometimes? Because you don’t want to hurt the feelings of the person you’re talking to?

I’m going to think about it.

Self sacrifice 💫

David Bowie?

“I’m busting out my brains for the world 🌍”-moonage daydream.

I don’t think it’s charity,I think that’s something else…

I think it’s the opposite of tricks. Maybe bending an honest knee.

I don’t know what the phrase means…
