Possibly the most interesting character in all of fiction,in my humble opinion. She speaks to Ender through parentheses, and the arguments she proposes are absolutely rooted in logic.
I think it’s the author’s cynicism. I think it is a human being struggling with what he sees.
Who the fuck can’t relate to that?
I think our species requires criticism,it requires the eye of judgement and the hostility of competition.
It’s a delicate balancing act though.
The ego is a fucking fireball,born to fight , conditioned to claw the throat out. People that use psychedelics talk about an experience called “the ego death”, a breakthrough that changes a person, a reminder that we’re all just dudes and chicks.
I get infatuated with that concept. Like ,some kind of equalizer. If you tweak your perspective enough,you might be able to see that we’re all the same.
