I saw something at the movies yesterday that I had never seen before. We’ve all heard the N word in public, we’ve heard it casual- we might have heard it in anger-might of heard it in humor, but have you ever heard it said with love?
I sat down before the previews and there was a black couple in the row ahead of me,settling in,munching some popcorn and sipping soda. This woman, this woman leaned towards her man and kissed him on the cheek, touched his face ,looked directly into his eyes and whispered.. “nigga”
I like to think I’ve seen a lot, I understand that we all feel that way, but I had never seen that. I’ve never seen it said with such love, between two individuals wrapped up in a kind moment.
Have you? have you ever seen that controversial word said with love? I know it’s not my word and I respect the gravity of it, but political correctness can never stop me from observing other humans.
I was so jealous, not for the word but for the moment.I daydreamed of the white equivalent for my situation, I dunno, just a person that understood…maybe a long look in the eyes and having the word whispered in your ear…”psychopath”
inaccurate- that’s not my word, not the equivalent and “cracker” wouldn’t satisfy either.I don’t know what my word would be.
