What a great day for a hurricane.
On a Friday?
Are you kidding me?
I went outside around 5 and the sky was alive , with this, this lime.
Green.
I could smell the saltwater .
All the trees were gripping onto the ground and I could hear them saying
“Oh shit”
THe younger trees were freaking the fuck out, but the older trees were laughing at them.
Everything seemed,, sideways.
All the limbs and all the leaves, all the branches and all the stances.
Credit card machines?
Down.
Cell Phone towers?
Down.
Underground,burial internet feeds?
UP!
I smelled the salt and nearly every living thing I cared about was dry and safe, under a roof.
The cat with no tail turned into the most grateful house guest.
Just good manners, ya know?
The fucking guy has great manners.
“Set you up in the garage”
Something to eat, something to drink, warm little nest, just for you.
ANd he’s like, scared of what’s happening outside, but he’s aware of how fortunate he is.
That’s why he’s a real one.
“A real one”…
Might have been 6, not five.
I don’t remember.
I just remember that shit was going sideways in the sky, and everything on the ground didn’t matter.
Which is my favorite.
Love it.
Can’t express it enough.
Those little tiny moments where you realize how little and tiny you are.
Natural Disasters.
High casualty terrorist attacks.
Mmmmm,,,
That might be it.
Name another one?
(Church folk?)
Yeah, if the sanctuary gets into it, they feel like they’re above, elevated above this muck…
But that ain’t for me.
I need the sky to open up, then I feel right..
Yaaaawwnnnn..
How lucky,, how very lucky.
A tree day weekend.
I goes and picks up them limbs.
I scan the landscape.
Everything I care about is “safe”
Therefore.. I wear a grin ‘ear to ear’..
(Mountains)
Yeah, I forgot mountains.
Mountains will make you feel very small.
And flying.
Flying makes you feel small.
(Death..)
Easy now, this is a cheerful entry,I’m trying to think of objects and scenarios that make you feel small..
Not sadness.
Dildo.
(Dill dough)
